I'm living down here, Atlanta Ga. with my girlfriend for the month of July. It's not really a vacation, b/c both of use work regular hours but it's a little getaway nonetheless. So in the morning we go to this big park that's close by called Piedmont Park.
It's a kinda strange. The idea of keeping a heart and map record of my life doesn't seem all to bad in theory. But in practice it possesses certain je ne sais quoi. "Erie" is not the right word. I think patterns will come out with practice.

Visiting Uncle P.

My uncle invited me to dinner at his house along with my cousins.... He's a natural storyteller. The food was yummy and they made a lot of homemade pickled things like pickled garlic and pickles. We talked about the history of the Soviets (who every there hated) among other things like like NYC, 'the South," and the World Cup.

A long twisty way home

I took a long contemplative bike ride home today after work. In one week I'll be off to Atlanta, Ga for a good part of the summer. The West Side Waterfront bike path is one of my favorite place to bike anywhere. The river, and across the river trees and condos. To call it New Jersey kills the effect somehow, but brings enormous calm, this ride. It's no the most direct way home but the extra 15-20 minutes are always worth it, essentially in the evening when the sun goes down in the west. The light is beautiful.

I'm basically zen navigating the entire way. When I feel I'm about straight cross-town from the Williamsburg bridge I just cut over and cross the island. There really isn't a route, it's random every-time. So it's really cool to see my little path from the map view.
As I biked across the Williamsburg bridge, which is like climbing a mountain, my heart-rate really when up. I rested on top, and so did my heart. And then for the coast down my heart was racing again. You can see it in the bike highs in my heart-rate image....
